Authenticity and Provenance

What we publish
Every item is given a serial number that resolves to a public certificate on this site. The certificate records the piece’s measurements, its condition at intake, its photographs, and the chain of custody events we hold records for. Anyone can look it up, including before buying.
The record is append-only. Events are added; they are not edited or removed. If we get something wrong, the correction is recorded as a further event rather than by quietly rewriting history.
What we claim, and what we do not
We describe what we can document. Where a piece has third-party authentication, we say who authenticated it and identify their certification so you can verify it with them directly. Where a piece has no third-party authentication, we say that too.
We do not assert that an item is game-used, player-worn, or signed by a particular person unless we hold documentation supporting it, and we identify what that documentation is. An absence of a claim is deliberate and means exactly what it appears to mean.
Our certificate is a record of our own documentation and inspection. It is not a third-party authentication service, and it is not a grading opinion.
If the record is wrong
A material discrepancy between an item’s authenticity or documented provenance and what was described at the time of sale is one of the circumstances the Refunds and Cancellations policy preserves, notwithstanding final sale. Bring it to us with whatever you have and we will investigate. Contact: Jackson@kansassportsvault.com.
Third-party marks
Team names, logos, and league marks are the property of their owners. Referring to them to describe what an object is does not imply any affiliation, licence, or endorsement.
